The Stendal public prosecutor's office is investigating AfD MEP Arno Bausemer on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. During a dispute over an election poster, he is said to have injured a young person with a suspected striking tool. The victim suffered minor injuries.
That same weekend, Bausemer was stopped during a traffic stop with a blood alcohol level between 1.0 and 1.25 per mille. The public prosecutor's office is requesting that his immunity be lifted. The European Parliament decides on this with a simple majority after a referral to the Legal Affairs Committee.

House in full fire
An empty residential building on Tangermünder Straße caught fire around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday night. When the fire brigade arrived, the building was already fully engulfed in flames.
The Federal Agency for Technical Relief checked the statics. Nobody was injured. The remaining extinguishing work lasted until the morning. According to police estimates, the damage is in the mid five-figure range. The cause of the fire is unclear.
Lockdowns continue
Nicolaistrasse will remain completely closed between Frommhagenstrasse and Blumenthalstrasse until the end of October due to work by the municipal utilities.
A roundabout is being built at Lüderitzer Straße and Gardelegener Straße. The closure there is expected to last until July 2027. The renewal of the Lüderitzer Straße bridge, the cannon bridge, is scheduled for September.
The customer center of Stadtwerke Stendal will remain closed this Wednesday. Customers can manage their data via the customer online center.
Sieler meets seniors
Mayor Bastian Sieler exchanged ideas with more than 50 senior citizens from EVG. Among other things, he provided information about the planned design of the Sperlingsberg.
The final decision should be made at the next city council meeting. Another topic was the closure of the Hanover-Berlin ICE route and the impact on commuters.
Young people at the music festival
At the Altmark Music Festival, young musicians are involved in a concert for German Unity Day. The festival is organized by the Stendal district and the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel and supported by the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The U19s of 1. FC Lok Stendal lost their association league game at VfL Halle 96 2:4. Halle was already leading 3-0 at the break.
Anton Behrens and Danylo Koshyk reduced the score to 2:3 for Stendal. Richard Krause scored the goal in the 80th minute to make the final score 4-2.
