Former secretary Renato Jayme da Silva remains hospitalized in the ICU after an accident this Friday (4) that killed his wife, Olívia Aparecida, on TO-070.
The couple's son, Vitor Faleiro, was also injured, but was discharged from hospital this Friday (4). The causes of the accident will be investigated by the Civil Police.
Olivia's wake took place this Saturday (5) in Palmas. The night before the accident, the family had dinner at a restaurant in the capital and planned to travel.
The former Secretary of Health of Tocantins, Renato Jayme da Silva, aged 58, remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Gurupi Regional Hospital (HRG) after an accident on TO-070. His wife, Olívia Aparecida, who was in the car, died at the scene. The couple's son, Vitor Faleiro, 25, was also injured.
The accident happened on Friday morning (4), between the municipalities of Formoso do Araguaia and Dueré, in the south of the state. According to the Military Police, the vehicle they were in overturned on the highway. Olívia Aparecida succumbed to her injuries and died before help arrived. Renato Jayme and his son were rescued and taken to the Gurupi Regional Hospital.
According to the State Department of Health (SES-TO), Renato Jayme da Silva remains under the care of the unit's multidisciplinary team, with continuous monitoring and monitoring of the clinical condition. He was taken to hospital in serious condition after the accident, but the SES did not detail the former secretary's current condition. The couple's son, Vitor Faleiro, was discharged from hospital this Friday (4), after treatment at the unit.
The causes of the accident must be investigated by the Civil Police.
Olívia Aparecida's wake is being held this Saturday morning (5), at the Gethsêmani Baptist Church, in Palmas. The burial is scheduled to take place around 4pm, at the Jardim das Acácias Cemetery.
Renato Jayme also presided over the Nature Institute of Tocantins (Naturatins). In a statement, the organization lamented the death of Olívia Aparecida, expressed solidarity with her family and wished the former manager and her son a speedy recovery.
Businesswoman Thays Teles, who attended to the family the night before the accident, recalled the last moments with the couple. According to her, Renato Jayme and Olívia Aparecida were happy and were making plans for the trip.

According to the businesswoman, she and Renato supported and encouraged the new business since its opening.
"They brought their son as if it were a real farewell, because I hadn't met his son yet. I served dinner for Olivia, and Renato ate his kebabs. They were very, very happy," he said.
On that occasion, Olivia ordered a kafta skewer, mentioned by Thays as her favorite dish. "Olívia was very happy. She was very polite, very friendly. I said: 'Wow, I'm glad you liked it'. That was the last conversation we had", he recalled.
By chance, the businesswoman took a photo next to Renato that night. Moved by the loss of her client, she stated that she intends to pay tribute to Olivia on the restaurant's menu. "She was my 'kafta client'. As soon as possible, I will pay tribute to her, not only for encouraging me, but for the strength she always gave me," he said.
