Two motorcycles used in the attack that killed radio host Gilberto Veras and another man were seized on Friday (4) on the coast of Piauí.

The vehicles were at the home of one of the identified suspects, in Parnaíba. They are cousins, one of whom is 15 years old, but neither has been located.

The police are trying to identify 2 other suspects in the crime. According to investigations, those involved are part of a criminal faction that operates in the region.

The target of the attack was a man known as "Skeletor". Four men on two motorcycles questioned him before firing the shots on Thursday (3).

Gilberto Veras was a public servant and ceremonialist in Luís Correia. The Civil Police are investigating whether the crime is related to drug trafficking.

The information was confirmed by delegate João Filipe Leite, responsible for the investigation.

The crime was recorded on Thursday morning (3).

To g1, the delegate informed that the motorcycles were found in the house of one of the two suspects already identified, in Parnaíba, also on the state's coast. According to him, the suspects are cousins ​​and one of them is 15 years old. Neither of them were found at the property.

In addition to the two cousins, the Civil Police are trying to identify two other suspects involved in the double homicide.

"The two motorcycles used in the crime were located and seized at the home of one of the suspects, in Parnaíba. However, he and his accomplices were not at the scene. In relation to the others, there are suspicions, but we still need to corroborate", explained the delegate.

According to the delegate, the suspects are part of a criminal faction that operates on the coast of Piauí. The shooting attack took place near a drug sales point that is linked to a rival criminal group. According to the investigation, the man known by the nickname "Skeletor" was the target of the criminals.

The crime

According to delegate João Filipe Leite, responsible for the investigation, four suspects arrived at the scene on two motorcycles as the victims were leaving a residence in Bairro Campos. They asked one of the victims if she was known by the nickname "Skeletor" and, after confirmation, they fired shots.

Gilberto Veras was rescued, but died on the way to the hospital.

Gilberto Veras worked on the communications team at Luís Correia City Hall. On the coast of Piauí, he was known for his work as a ceremonialist at public, institutional and cultural events, in addition to narrating sports competitions.

The Civil Police still do not know what the relationship was between radio host Gilberto Veras and the other victim. One of the lines of investigation is whether the crime is linked to drug trafficking.
