Türkiye and the United States have resumed negotiations on the supply and modernization of F-16 fighters, Al-Monitor reported on September 21, citing a source familiar with the discussions. According to the publication, the parties are discussing the possible purchase by Turkey of 40 new F-16 Block 70, as well as issues of modernizing the country’s existing fighter fleet.

“You know, we expect concrete actions from the American side on this issue. The amount has already been paid, but deliveries have not yet been completed. Negotiations are currently ongoing, and we expect a positive result,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
