Deputy Prime Minister Trutnev assessed the socio-economic development of the Kamchatka Territory

Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev gave a positive assessment of the socio-economic development of the Kamchatka Territory at a meeting in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the regional government reports.

“The region is showing positive dynamics for a number of economic indicators. Mining production is increasing. First of all, gold. Agricultural production increased by 18% compared to the same period last year,” the press service quotes Trutnev.

As the plenipotentiary noted, despite the difficulties of the salmon fishing season, which affected the performance of the fishing industry, Kamchatka maintains growth in other areas. At the meeting, they discussed the implementation of the master plan for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the Far Eastern Hectare and Affordable Rental Housing programs, as well as road repairs, the volume of which this year was a record one, Trutnev added.

“This year we are renovating about 70 kilometers of key roads. This is a record figure in recent decades,” said Vladimir Solodov, Governor of the Kamchatka Territory.

The governor also spoke about housing programs: the Far Eastern Quarter is being built in the region, where 619 apartments will soon be delivered, and together with DOM.RF a program of affordable rental housing for 883 apartments is being implemented. 268 people have already moved in - SVO participants, doctors, teachers, cultural and sports workers, young and large families. The region’s construction portfolio includes 21 investment projects worth 36.5 billion rubles.

It is added that results are also noticeable in investment policy and tourism. With state support, 212 investment projects worth 501.6 billion rubles are being implemented, over 14 thousand jobs have been created. The tourism sector is growing at one of the fastest rates: the region is reaching 10 thousand accommodation places and is developing a hotel chain. The flagship project is the all-season cluster “Park “Three Volcanoes””, as well as the children’s camp “Vulcan”.
