Erdogan announced Turkey's efforts to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the safety of navigation in the Black Sea

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Polish President Karol Nawrocki that Ankara is making efforts to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, paying special attention to the safety of shipping in the Black Sea.

Erdogan’s meeting with Nawrocki took place at the Turkish House in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The leaders discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and Poland, as well as regional and international issues.

“Türkiye is making efforts to end the conflict and is especially working to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea,” the Turkish Presidential Office said in a statement.

Erdogan noted that it is advisable for Ankara and Warsaw to take steps to increase the volume of bilateral trade.

According to him, Türkiye and Poland are also working to expand cooperation in various fields, primarily in the defense industry.

Speaking about the situation in the Middle East, the Turkish President emphasized the importance of continued international support for a two-state solution to ensure peace and stability in Gaza.
