A security man was stabbed to death and another injured in Amman, and local sources suggest that the incident was a “terrorist operation”

A short while ago, Jordanian Public Security announced that one of its employees was killed after he was attacked with a sharp object by a person in the capital.

Sources also reported to local media that initial indications of the stabbing incident of a security man in the capital indicate that it was a "terrorist operation."

He added that an investigation had been initiated into the incident, and the correspondent of the official Al-Mamlaka TV channel reported on Thursday that a public security man had been stabbed in a street in the capital, and that the security services had arrested the assailant. The Kingdom's correspondent stated that the assailant tried to seize the security man's weapon.

Al-Mamlaka Channel reported that the assailant in the incident that resulted in the death of a public security man on Medina Street was neutralized by a public security officer, after a fistfight with him, explaining that the security man who neutralized the assailant sustained a minor injury.

She added that the intervention of another security man prevented the assailant from seizing the weapon of the security man who was killed, indicating that the security man and the assailant were transferred to a hospital.

She pointed out that bladed weapons and two daggers were found in the possession of the perpetrator of the attack on the security man, and that large security reinforcements were present in the vicinity of the incident, with a security cordon imposed in the area and a complete closure of Medina Street towards the Seventh Circle.

The Kingdom's correspondent also said that a security guard was killed by a person who attacked him with a knife, adding that Public Security personnel arrested the assailant.
