The "2026 Taiwan International Children and Youth Carnival Future Generations Book Fair" was launched today (23rd) at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. Executive Director Zhuo Rongtai visited the exhibition booths. He read storybooks to the children in the French Pavilion, and finally went to the Youth Theme Pavilion to meet teachers and students from Taoyuan Junior High School in Taitung. In addition to donating books to the school, each student was also given book coupons to encourage students to read more.

Zhuo Rongtai and Pang Weide, director of the French Institute in Taiwan, read storybooks to parents and children in Mandarin and French respectively.

Accompanied by Minister of Culture Li Yuan and others, Zhuo Rongtai visited the book fair. The first stop was the booth set up by the French Association in Taiwan, the theme country. He and Pang Weide, director of the association, read the French children's book "Mr. Butterfly Beauty Contest" to the parents and children present in Mandarin and French respectively. Afterwards, the children shared their drawings of the 85 Building. Zhuo happily praised: "The painting is very good!"

Zhuo Rongtai later visited the "Reading Paradise" and the "Return to Story Island - Discovery of Taiwanese Comics" at the Taiwan Comic Base, listening to the exhibition organizers' explanations of concepts and features. Finally, he went to the "Rebel Club" Youth Theme Pavilion and met 43 teachers and students from Taoyuan Junior High School in Yanping Township, Taitung County. Teachers and students of the school took a tour bus from Taitung to Kaohsiung at 8 o'clock this morning and participated in the grand event excitedly.

Zhuo Rongtai told this group of teachers and students that the Children's and Children's Book Fair includes book exhibitions, film exhibitions and dramas, giving everyone a new experience with multiple contacts. He said that in order to allow students to have more connections with literary works or cultural fields as early as possible, this year the Ministry of Culture has specially extended the cultural currency age to 13 to 22 years old, and increased the points to 1,200 points, which can buy books and watch movies.

Zhuo Rongtai also donated books to the school, so that students who were unable to come could also have the opportunity to enjoy the fragrance of books. He encouraged students that reading can broaden their horizons and become a wealth that no one else can take away.

The "2026 Taiwan International Children and Youth Carnival" sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and co-organized by the Kaohsiung City Government will be held at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from today to the 27th. For the first time, the event integrates the book fair, film festival and theater, as well as four major outdoor flagship programs, and is fully open to the public for free admission.
