To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, a joint exhibition of Guangxi art works opens in Guilin

China News Service, Guilin, Guangxi, September 24 (Yang Zongsheng) On September 23, "Soul of the Long March, New Journey" - a joint exhibition of Guangxi art works commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army's Long March opened at the Guilin Art Museum. With the history of the Long March as its root and the spirit of the Long March as its core, the exhibition brings together the creations of specially invited artists from all over Guangxi and outside the region. Through traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, watercolor, sculpture, digital art and other art forms, the exhibition looks back at the history of the revolution, responds to the development of the times, and demonstrates the diverse looks and innovative vitality of Guangxi's art creation in the new era.

According to reports, the exhibition will last until November 2. During the preparations for the exhibition, relevant units jointly organized and promoted the exhibition. After collection and selection, more than 100 works were finally exhibited. They not only represented historical figures, revolutionary scenes and red cultural resources, but also contemporary expressions of traditional artistic language. They included explorations of sculptures in form, space and materials, as well as attempts to intervene in creation with new technologies such as artificial intelligence, showing the characteristics of diversified theme creation and diversified artistic language.

At the opening ceremony, Shi Xiangdong, chairman of the Guangxi Artists Association, delivered a speech. He said: "Guilin is an important route and key battlefield for the Red Army's Long March. The red gene is deeply rooted in the hot land of Bagui. For ninety years, the fire has been passed down from generation to generation, and the spirit of the Long March has remained fresh. It has always guided Guangxi art workers to adhere to the original intention of art and bravely shoulder the mission of the times."

Guangxi is an important place where the Central Red Army's Long March passed through, and Guilin is an important area where the Central Red Army experienced the Xiangjiang Battle and broke through the siege after the Long March entered Guangxi. The Battle of Xiangjiang River left a profound historical mark here and also formed red cultural resources with distinctive regional characteristics. This exhibition is held in Guilin, based on this unique historical and cultural background, with the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March as an important node, giving full play to the rich red cultural resources of Guilin and Guangxi, guiding art workers to go deep into the historical scene, take root in life, present the history and spirit of the Long March from a multi-dimensional perspective, and inject contemporary artistic expression into this classic theme.

This joint exhibition brings together diverse creative forces in an artistic way. Works are specially invited and collected from inside and outside the region, covering multiple art categories such as traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, watercolor, sculpture, digital art, etc., integrating traditional aesthetics and contemporary innovation, and launching a dialogue between history and contemporary times, inheritance and innovation.
