Fengdu County will build a livable and industrial landscape smart city in the Three Gorges Reservoir area

Zhang Jijun, secretary of the Fengdu County Party Committee in Chongqing, said at the press conference that Fengdu will build a livable and industrial landscape smart city in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.

Fengdu is located in the hinterland of the Three Gorges Reservoir area and the geographical center of Chongqing. It is a node city in the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle. It has lush mountains and rivers, rich products and rich humanities. It has a good foundation and broad space to promote high-quality development of the county economy.

Relying on the 47-kilometer Yangtze River coastline, Fengdu’s cityscape is interdependent, fully displaying the characteristics of a landscape city; the park and the urban area have achieved the integration of industry and city, building a “15-minute commuting circle” and laying a good foundation for development of a work-housing balance. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Fengdu will implement the people's city concept and promote the built-up area to reach 30 square kilometers and the permanent population to 300,000.

"The livable and industrial landscape smart city in the Three Gorges Reservoir area is an urban carrier, which mainly solves the problems of how to build the city and how to improve the quality of citizens' lives." Zhang Jijun said that Fengdu will make efforts from three aspects.

First of all, Fengdu will do a good job of showing mountains, dew water and adding greenery. Optimize and improve the waterfront space of the "Two Waters and Four Banks of the Yangtze River and Long River", coordinate the layout of urban parks, and strive to create a national ecological civilization construction demonstration area.

How to promote urban renewal with high quality? Fengdu will carry out key livelihood projects such as the renovation of old communities, create a "15-minute convenient living circle", and create a national civilized city. Improve the city’s intrinsic safety level.

In addition, Fengdu will also build a global sensing system to dynamically clear urban risks and hazards, making governance more efficient and precise.
