The projectile is equipped with a self-guided high-precision system and confirmed its hit accuracy during testing.

The development of a guided projectile with an increased range will significantly strengthen the combat readiness of North Korean forces on the border with South Korea.

MOSCOW, September 24 - RIA Novosti. The DPRK tested a guided projectile of an updated MLRS with a range of up to 115 kilometers, the North Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) reports.

“As part of the plan to modernize the artillery and missile forces to implement the five-year development plan for national defense, on September 22, in the field of scientific research, a test firing of a guided projectile of the updated 240-mm MLRS was carried out,” the agency said in a publication.

It is noted that the guided projectile of the updated MLRS is equipped with a self-guided high-precision system, its range is 100 kilometers (by the ballistic flight method) and 115 kilometers (by the combined gliding flight method).

During the test, the accuracy of the MLRS projectile and its superiority were confirmed.
