The KGB of Belarus neutralized a group planning sabotage in the Russian Federation

The State Security Committee of Belarus announced the neutralization of a criminal group that planned to commit sabotage on the territory of the Russian Federation. The statement is quoted by Interfax.

As noted in the official statement of the department, the target of the attackers was one of the strategically important objects of the Russian Federation.

According to the operational data received, the actions of the group members were controlled from the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, the saboteurs intended to use the territory of Belarus as a logistics corridor for the illegal transportation of unmanned aerial vehicles, specialized equipment and communications equipment.

The KGB emphasized that the sabotage plan was successfully blocked at the preparation stage. All collected evidence and case materials were promptly transferred to Russian colleagues, and a number of persons involved in the illegal scheme have already been detained by law enforcement agencies.

Currently, the committee, in close cooperation with the relevant departments of Russia, continues a set of operational search and investigative measures aimed at identifying other persons who could be involved in the preparation of the crime. Details of the investigation are not being disclosed at this stage in the interests of the investigation.
