Visitors can walk into Xiaocun Commune to experience fresh fruit picking and fruit wine brewing; stroll through Xu'aodi Ancient Village and read about the ancient charm of covered bridges in the streets and alleys of old houses; climb to the heights of Nanpu Creek Canyon and enjoy the distant views of the forest-dyed mountain scenery.
Behind the excitement are the profound changes brought about by the opening of Wentai Expressway. Taishun is hidden deep in the mountains of southern Zhejiang, and traffic congestion has long restricted its development. The opening of the Wentai Expressway has completely broken the barriers between mountains and villages, and has become the core link connecting urban space, scenic landscapes and ancient villages.

Previously, Taishun's tourism industry was mostly based on summer tourism and summer study, and the cultural tourism market had obvious seasonal characteristics. Taking advantage of the high-speed traffic diversion, this year the local government launched the "Come to Taishun, Come to Autumn" cultural tourism consumption season to accurately fill in the shortcomings of autumn cultural tourism products and promote the tourism industry to steadily shift from "hot in one season" to "prosperous in all four seasons". This expressway has also become a veritable "golden autumn line".
The convenient transportation brings tourists in and helps local specialties go out.
After the completion of the Wentai Expressway, the time from surrounding areas to Taishun has been significantly shortened, attracting more tourists. During the day, people enjoy the various autumn beauties. After nightfall, the night market stalls in Wenxiang Lake Park are opened one after another, and specialties such as kiwi fruit and three cups of fragrant tea are particularly popular. In addition, due to the significant improvement in transportation timeliness, more and more high-quality agricultural products are coming out of the mountains along the highway and sold at home and abroad. The resources of mountain villages have truly been transformed into revenue-increasing momentum.

In order to catch the peak passenger flow during golden autumn travel, expressway operators have built a multi-dimensional travel support network. The Taishun Toll Center of Zhejiang Provincial Transportation Group coordinates the deployment of mobile forces and is stationed at key stations near scenic spots to conduct traffic diversion and emergency response in real time to ensure smooth and orderly traffic.
At the same time, technological support further enhances traffic safety. The external remote transmission fault indicator used by Taishun Tunnel Management Office is transformed into an "intelligent sentinel" to monitor the status of high-voltage lines around the clock, improving power fault troubleshooting efficiency by more than 70%. The fault response time is compressed from the original 2 to 3 hours to less than 30 minutes, fully ensuring the stable operation of tunnel lighting, toll collection systems and other equipment.
In addition, the "Jin Shang Hua" volunteer service team extended the service boundary from the toll station to the scenic spot, stationed at Xiaocun Commune and other points to carry out passenger flow guidance, order maintenance and consultation and question answering; convenience service desks were simultaneously set up at each toll station along the line to distribute cultural and tourism brochures and guide tour routes to make tourists' travel smoother and more heart-warming.
A highway opens up not only a way to travel through mountains and ridges, but also a way to revitalize rural areas and increase people's income.
