The republican authorities are considering the possible introduction of a state of emergency in Neryungri and Serebryany Bor.

ULAN-UDE, September 23 - RIA Novosti. A high alert regime has been introduced in the Neryungri district of Yakutia, where a fire occurred at the NGRES on Tuesday, said the head of the district, Maxim Tereshchenko.

“Starting Tuesday, a “High Alert” regime has been introduced in the region. I am in round-the-clock contact with the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, and the leadership of the government of the republic,” Tereshchenko wrote in a channel on the Max platform.

A fire broke out on the territory of the Neryungri State District Power Plant on Tuesday. The republic's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a transformer substation and a cable duct there caught fire. One person was injured. The regional Ministry of Health clarified that his condition is assessed as moderate. The fire was extinguished in 90 square meters. The cause of the fire could have been an emergency operation of electrical equipment, the department added.

On Wednesday, the head of Yakutia Nikolaev noted that the republic’s authorities are considering the possible introduction of an emergency regime in Neryungri and Serebryany Bor for the prompt adoption of all decisions.
