Fenerbahçe's stadium capacity will be increased to 64 thousand

Providing information about the project to increase the stadium capacity at the general assembly held at Ülker Sports and Event Hall, Özbağı stated that the capacity will be increased to 64 thousand.

Emphasizing that the construction work will start from outside the stadium, Özbağı said, "There will be no obstacle to playing our matches. While the roof is being removed, the matches will not be played, but since this period will coincide with the end of the season, our matches will not be affected. 44 new lodges will be built behind the goals. I will cover the cost of this project without placing any burden on Fenerbahçe. May it be a sacrifice for Fenerbahçe. I hope that we will receive the permission and approval of our project in a short time. I would like to express my gratitude to our President for his support." he said.

Pointing out that the current capacity is 48 thousand, Özbağı said, "It will now have a capacity of 64 thousand. Thus, it will be the largest stadium in Türkiye on a club basis. Our fans will be proud of our stadium. Our stadium is old, we need to renew it. We want to start the foundation and concreting works in November. Since our ground is weak, we will do ground reinforcement. We will also order steel fabrications. This will take 6 months. The removal of the roof will be in June and July. Afterwards "We will do the façade cladding to ensure acoustics. We aim to complete the renovation process in November 2027. I would like to say that I will be interested in this project and give my support even if we are not in management. I may receive criticism from my family here, but I'm sorry." He made a statement.

Providing information about the cost of the project, Özbağı said:

"Steel works are 23 million euros; construction and tribune works are 10 million 700 thousand euros; facade and roof works are 8 million 450 thousand euros; mechanical works are 2 million 600 thousand euros. The total cost, including general expenses, is 50 million euros. We have built this stadium together with our fans before. When our stadium is finished, the goal backs will provide 6.5 million euros of additional income. We will earn 7.5 million euros of additional income from the lodges.
