FIS has updated the admission of Russian athletes, removing the ban for CSKA and other law enforcement agencies

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has updated its policy on individual neutral athletes, removing the exclusion clause for Russian athletes from CSKA Moscow and other sports societies associated with the armed forces from the regulations.

The restriction now applies only to athletes who voluntarily entered into a contract with the armed forces or national security agencies of Russia and Belarus.

Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev said that the criteria for admitting Russian athletes to international tournaments are becoming transparent and understandable, and expressed hope for full performance at the World Championships and Olympic Games in the French Alps in 2030.

MOSCOW, September 23 - RIA Novosti. The Minister of Sports of Russia, Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Mikhail Degtyarev said that the criteria for admission of Russian athletes to international tournaments are becoming transparent and understandable.

On Tuesday, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) published an updated policy regarding individual neutral athletes. In the new document, the FIS removed from the regulations the clause banning participation in competitions for Russian athletes from CSKA and other sports societies associated with the armed forces. The restriction applies to athletes who voluntarily entered into a contract with the armed forces or national security agencies of Russia and Belarus.

“The admission criteria are becoming transparent and understandable. In fact, the path to international competitions is open to the entire composition of our national teams,” Degtyarev wrote in his Telegram channel following a meeting with the Chairman of the Russian Ski and Snowboard Federation Dmitry Svishchev.
