France investigates Molotov cocktail attack on police officers as attempted murder

The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office opened, this Sunday (1st), an investigation for attempted murder after the launch of a Molotov cocktail at security forces agents during a demonstration held in the French capital last Saturday (31st). The information is from AFP.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, 320,000 people participated in the events across France, including 70,000 in Paris. Organizers estimated a larger turnout of almost 500,000 protesters in the country.

This was the third consecutive Saturday of protests against the increase in the cost of living in the country. The demonstrations were marked by episodes of violence in some cities, including Paris.

The gendarme hit by the Molotov cocktail reported to television stations the burning sensation caused by the explosion. He also described a "rain" of projectiles launched at his unit by a group he called "determined."
