The Civil Police opened an investigation this Friday (30) to investigate the father of a 16-year-old teenager for illegal possession of a firearm.
The father confessed to owning the unregistered revolver, kept in the glove compartment of his car. He declared that he had discarded the weapon in a river after the crime.
The crime occurred on Saturday (24) during a fight at a gas station. The teenager was taken to a hospitalization unit this Friday (30).
The Civil Police opened an investigation to determine the possible criminal responsibility of the father of the 16-year-old teenager suspected of shooting dead Ewerton Rodrigues da Silva, 34, and leaving another man injured, after an attempt to break up a fight over parking in Bonito (MS), on Saturday night (24). The confusion occurred after a motorcade supporting Flávio Bolsonaro (PL).
According to the Civil Police, the procedure was opened on Friday (30) and investigates possible irregularities in the acquisition, storage and possession of the firearm used in the crime.
During interrogation at the Jardim Regional Police Station, accompanied by a lawyer, the teenager's father claimed to be the owner of the revolver. According to him, the weapon was acquired approximately two years ago, without documentation or legal registration, and was stored in the glove compartment of his truck. The man also stated that his son knew where the weapons were kept.
Still during the testimony, the father said that, after the crime, he discarded the revolver in the Miranda River, in the Águas do Miranda district, in the stretch between Bonito and Aquidauana.
Following the information, teams from the Civil Police and the Military Fire Department carried out searches near the bridge over the river, in an attempt to locate the weapon. Despite the joint operation, the revolver was not found.
The 16-year-old teenager presented himself to the Civil Police on Wednesday (28), in Aquidauana. His father, aged 47, also handed himself in at the Jardim Regional Police Station. They had been wanted since the night of the crime.
The court ordered the teenager's arrest on Tuesday (27). This Wednesday (28), he voluntarily presented himself to the police, accompanied by his mother and lawyers. According to the delegate responsible for the case, the teenager is suspected of having fired the shots that hit the victims. The police interviewed witnesses and analyzed images to clarify how the crime happened.
After receiving information about the teenager's location, police officers went to a house in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, in Aquidauana, where he was.
According to the police, the agents identified themselves and informed the teenager about the arrest order. The Jardim Regional Police Station is investigating the homicide, with support from the Aquidauana Civil Police.
On Thursday (29), he was transferred to Jardim, where the Civil Police concluded the Infractional Act Investigation Report (AAAINF). On Friday (30), the teenager was sent to an Inpatient Educational Unit (Unei), in another municipality in the state.
According to the Civil Police, around 13 people were interviewed during the investigations, including the teenager's father. The procedure was forwarded to the Judiciary.
The teenager is being investigated for criminal acts similar to the crimes of completed qualified homicide, for the death of Ewerton Rodrigues da Silva, and attempted qualified homicide, against a 30-year-old man who was also hit by the shots.
The fight began around 10:40 pm on Saturday (24), near a gas station, in the central region of Bonito, after a motorcade supporting Flávio Bolsonaro.
According to the police report, the teenager's father began attacking a 30-year-old driver. Other people intervened and also attacked the man. During the confusion, the teenager allegedly took a revolver from a truck and shot at people who were there.
Ewerton was hit by three shots. He was rescued and taken to Darcy João Bigaton Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.
To g1, Giovane Rodrigues, Ewerton's brother, said that he did not participate in the motorcade and was at the gas station with his partner, who was five months pregnant, when he tried to break up the fight.
“Ewerton just wanted to help,” said Giovane.
Ewerton left two children, aged 11 and 9, and was awaiting the birth of his first daughter, Dominic. According to his family, he dreamed of having a girl and had already prepared the baby's room. Another man was also seriously injured by the gunfire.
Although the crime occurred after a motorcade, the Civil Police reported that the investigations do not indicate political motivation. The Regional Electoral Court of Mato Grosso do Sul (TRE-MS) also reported that those involved belonged to the same political group.
