1580 hectares of land were destroyed in the forest fire in the Luglon region of France

Landes Governorship published a new statement regarding the forest fire that has been ongoing in Luglon since August 13.

According to the statement, 1580 hectares of land have so far been reduced to ashes in the forest fire in Luglon.

550 firefighters dispatched to the region continue their extinguishing activities.

The fire continues to be active near the village of Garein, southeast of the village of Luglon. Approximately 100 people were evacuated from the village of Garein at night.

Thus, the total number of people evacuated from the region since the day the fire started reached 650.

It is not yet known how the forest fire started in Luglon on August 13.

According to the statement made by the French meteorological agency Meteo-France, an orange alert was issued in 64 provinces of the country due to extreme heat. In France, temperatures are expected to reach up to 40 degrees during the day.
