Those who lost their lives on the ship that sank off the coast of Kyrenia were buried

The bodies of Mehmet Asaf Biçer and Nihat Pancar, who lost their lives when their cruise ship sank off the Kyrenia Port of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), were buried in Hatay.

The bodies of Biçer (6) and Pancar (51), who were reached during the search and rescue efforts carried out by the teams after the sinking of the passenger ship named "Floet Jet", which departed from Kyrenia Port to Taşucu Port in Mersin's Silifke district on 30 August, were handed over to their relatives.

Biçer's body was buried after the funeral prayer at Asri Cemetery in Reyhanlı district.

Biçer's father Hayri and mother Ayten Biçer and their relatives, as well as Reyhanlı District Governor Muharrem Coşgun and citizens attended the prayer.

A funeral prayer was performed for Pancar, who is married and has one child, at the cemetery in Yaylıca District of Samandağ district.

After the prayer attended by family relatives, Samandağ Mayor Emrah Karaçay and citizens, Pancar's body was buried accompanied by prayers.

The high-speed passenger ship named "Fleet Jet", which was operating between Kyrenia Port in TRNC and Taşucu Port in Mersin, started to take in water from its front part shortly after departing from Kyrenia at noon on Sunday, August 30, and sank while trying to return to Kyrenia Port.
