"Bir kişinin daha naaşına ulaşıldığını ve yukarı çıkarıldığını öğrenmiş bulunuyoruz. Kimlik tespiti yapıldıktan sonra kimin naaşına ulaşıldığı kamuoyuyla paylaşılacaktır. Bu şekilde vefat edenlerin sayısının 10'a çıktığını ifade etmek isterim. Yapılan yoğun çalışmaların neticesinde başka naaşlara da ulaşılacağı anlaşılmıştır. Bununla ilgili gelişmeleri ilgili kurumlar, çalışmalar titiz bir şekilde tamamlandığında kamuoyuyla paylaşmış olacaklardır. Ancak, bir ilerleme sağlandığını bugün ifade edebilirim. Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanımıza, emeği olan tüm yetkililere şükranlarımı sunuyorum. KKTC Cumhurbaşkanlığı, dün yaptığı açıklamada feribotun enkazına ulaşıldığını duyurmuştu. Enkazın bulunmasından saatler sonra yaklaşık 50 yaşlarında bir erkeğe ait olduğu değerlendirilen bir kişinin cansız bedenine ulaşılmıştı.

Cenazenin kimliğinin belirlenebilmesi için kayıp yakınlarından DNA örneği alınacağı açıklanmıştı.

KKTC tarihinin en büyük deniz kazalarından biri olarak kayıtlara geçen faciada, enkaza ulaşılmadan önce sekiz kişinin cansız bedeni bulunmuştu. Son iki bulguyla birlikte hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısı 10'a çıktı.
