Updated satellite images of Google Maps reveal the extent of destruction in Gaza

The heavy damage caused by the Israeli army's bombardments of the Gaza Strip since October 2023 was reflected in the updated satellite images of Google Maps.

Due to Israeli attacks, nearly 90 percent of the buildings in Gaza, where approximately 2.4 million Palestinians live, were destroyed.

In Gaza, where the infrastructure has also been destroyed, thousands of Palestinians struggle to survive in tents because they have no place to stay.

The heavy destruction left behind by Israel can be seen in every region of Gaza.

Updated satellite images from Google Maps reveal the extent of the destruction caused by Israel's attacks across the Gaza Strip.

In the images, it is clearly seen that large areas where previously dense settlements were located have been completely turned into rubble, thousands of buildings have been destroyed and neighborhoods have been erased from the map and turned into piles of stones.

It is noteworthy in satellite photographs that not a single building remains standing in Rafah, south of Gaza, which hosted more than 270 thousand Palestinians in October 2023.

Rafah, where residents were forcibly displaced, is still under Israeli occupation.

The terrible extent of the destruction in Gaza City, which has the highest population density in the Gaza Strip, is also reflected in satellite photographs.

Israel dropped 16 times more explosives on Gaza than the atomic bomb in Hiroshima

More than 74 thousand Palestinians, mostly women and children, have lost their lives in the attacks carried out by the Israeli army on Gaza since October 2023.

Israel made Gaza uninhabitable and bombarded the region from air, land and sea. According to Palestinian sources, Israel bombarded Gaza with 223 thousand tons of explosives.

This number means 16 times more explosive than the atomic bomb dropped by the USA on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945.

In addition to these bombardments, Israel deliberately demolished thousands of houses with construction equipment in Gaza, where it wanted to force the Palestinians out.
