Ship sinking in Kyrenia

The high-speed passenger ship named "Fleet Jet", which was operating between Kyrenia Port in TRNC and Taşucu Port in Mersin, started to take in water from its front part shortly after departing from Kyrenia at noon on Sunday, August 30, and sank while trying to return to Kyrenia Port.

After the ship with a total of 267 passengers and crew sank, 239 people were rescued, and 15 passengers on the ship, whose wreckage was found at a depth of 554 meters off the coast of Kyrenia, lost their lives.
