Former Shin Bet director Ronen Bar has announced that he will file a defamation suit against Benjamin Netanyahu for claiming today that the then intelligence chief was aware of the threat of an attack on the night of October 6-7, but chose not to inform the prime minister. In a statement, Bar also calls for the release of documents and testimony about information provided to Netanyahu before October 7, 2023. Bar said he warned Netanyahu of "an impending disaster of unprecedented proportions, and that the prime minister ignored these warnings."

The plane landed in Israel about an hour later, at 10.27pm,” Netanyahu's office adds, effectively providing further details. Furthermore, a Mossad assessment of the severity of the damage caused by the Channel 12 publication reads: "This information leak constituted a serious threat to the security of the prime minister and the delegation... We ask that an alarm be raised and that the publication be classified as a serious event constituting damage to the security of the State of Israel."

GB: 5 arrested for accident near base released on bail

"This does not mean that the investigation is over," Taylor said, explaining that the five remain under investigation and are subject to "strict conditions" regarding their movements and contact with other people. "We are following several investigative leads," he added. The five men were traveling in three vehicles, which were subsequently searched with the support of military personnel and forensic experts. "Significant resources" of security forces still remain deployed in the area and the site is still cordoned off. The cordon, Taylor explained, will however be reduced in the next few hours to allow residents to return to their homes.
