Haitian confesses to having beheaded and dismembered ex-partner in Votorantim

Haitian Charles Anglade, aged 36, was arrested and confessed to having beheaded and dismembered his ex-partner Esther Estinor, aged 39, for not accepting the end of the relationship in Votorantim (SP).

The feminicide occurred on March 8, on International Women's Day. After being captured in Suriname by Interpol and extradited to Brazil, the suspect indicated to the Civil Police the forested area where he had hidden the victim's head and hands.

The crime shocked investigators due to the cruelty used. "I have years of experience in Homicide and I can say that it was the most barbaric case I have investigated to date. The cruelty has characteristic features of psychopathy", stated the chief delegate of the Deic of Sorocaba, Camilo Veiga.

March 8 (Disappearance): Esther got ready and left the house in Jardim Tatiana without informing her children of her destination. It was the last day she was seen alive;

March 9 (Occurrence report): concerned about the disappearance and lack of contact, the victim's sister formalized the disappearance with the Civil Police;

March 11 (body located): the victim's torso was found mutilated in a field behind his own residence, on Rua Eronita Pedro de Souza. The head and hands were not in place;

March 18 (burial): Esther was buried in the Votorantim Municipal Cemetery. The restaurant worker had lived in Brazil for five years and left behind three children (aged 19, 15 and 3), who were looked after by their aunt;

August 1 (escape and arrest by Interpol): after five months on the run, Charles was located in Suriname, where he was working to raise money and escape to Haiti. He was arrested and extradited to the CDP of Guarulhos (SP);

August 7 (search and bones found): brought from the prison to indicate the location of the hiding, the suspect took Deic teams to a dense forest area, where the police finally located Esther's head and hands.

According to Deic de Sorocaba, the couple had a troubled relationship, marked by jealousy and frequent arguments. Charles did not accept the breakup and had moved to a property close to his ex-partner's to monitor her.

The suspect will be responsible for the crimes of qualified femicide, destruction and concealment of a corpse.
