Gökçe, the daughter of Duygu Nur Kaya and Murat Bahtiyar Kaya, tourism workers in Serik, was taken to Serik State Hospital with a complaint of high fever while she was teething on October 9. Following Gökçe Kaya's suspicious death, her body was sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy upon the instructions of the prosecutor's office. Baby Gökçe was buried in the district on October 10 by his family after the autopsy. After the funeral, the Kaya couple went to the police station and filed a complaint against those responsible, alleging negligence in the death of their child.

'THIS IS DENTAL FEVER, IT WILL NOT BE USEFUL EVEN IF YOU COME'

Making a statement to the DHA reporter, Duygu Nur Kaya said, "We went to the hospital around 20.30-21.00. My child had a fever. It was a fever that broke out suddenly. We have experienced it before and I guessed it was a tooth. The doctor looked into his mouth with a swab. He said, 'Because of the tooth.' He directed me to the nurse next door.
