(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Ok Seong-gu = The Labor Party Bureau, which is investigating the death of a subcontractor in his 20s when he got caught in a machine that occurred at the auto parts manufacturer HL Mando's Pyeongtaek plant in Gyeonggi Province, has launched a second compulsory investigation.

According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 14th, the Pyeongtaek Branch of the Gyeonggi Regional Employment and Labor Office is conducting a search and seizure of HL Mando's Pangyo headquarters and Pyeongtaek factory.

This is the second compulsory investigation following the search and seizure of the Pyeongtaek factory on the 7th of last month.

The Pyeongtaek branch of the Gyeonggi Province, which formed a dedicated investigation team immediately after the accident occurred, deployed about 20 labor inspectors to the search and seizure on this day, and plans to secure evidence, including the PCs of those involved.

The Pyeongtaek branch of the Gyeonggi Province plans to closely examine HL Mando's safety measures to prevent entrapment accidents, especially whether the management manager establishes and implements a safety and health management system under the Serious Accident Punishment Act.

The policy is to take strict action if violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accident Punishment Act, including the fulfillment of safety and health obligations, are confirmed through the investigation.

Previously, at around 12:50 p.m. on July 22, an accident occurred at this factory where the late Kim Seung-mo (28), a member of a partner company, came to inspect the inside of a broken parts processing machine and died after getting his upper body caught between the machine and the wall.

The police and the Ministry of Labor are investigating the details of the accident, believing that the accident occurred while an HL Mando employee was test-driving the machine without knowing that Mr. Kim was inside the machine.

Meanwhile, the 'Late Kim Seung-mo Serious Disaster Response Committee', composed of Kim's bereaved family and labor and social organizations, set up an incense burner on the first floor of the headquarters of the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office and began an indefinite sit-in protest, demanding a meeting with the Minister of Labor.
