Man captures boa constrictor with his hands after it appears on the hood of a truck in Goiânia

A man impressed the web by catching a snake with his hand after the animal appeared on the hood of a pickup truck in Goiânia (see the video above). In the images, it is possible to see when the man approaches and quickly grabs the snake in the head area.

The case happened on Wednesday night (23), in the Airport Sector. According to TV Anhanguera, the driver of the truck stopped the car at a gas station as soon as he saw the snake on the hood.

According to the information, a man who was at the establishment was the one who caught the animal until firefighters arrived. In the video, you can hear some people screaming, scared and asking if the species is poisonous.

According to the Fire Department, when the team arrived, the snake, which is a boa constrictor, was wrapped around the arm of the man who captured it and was taken to the barracks to be sent to the Wild Animal Triage Center (Cetas).

In an interview with g1, biologist Edson Arantes explained that boa constrictors are not venomous animals, that is, they have no poison and kill by constriction.

"It is not an aggressive snake, but it will bite when it feels threatened or when it is touched. It can hurt, it can hurt. And in its teeth, in its teeth, there may be bacteria that can cause an infection", he explained about the risks of handling the animal without preparation.

Furthermore, the professional warns that incorrect handling can hurt the animal and cause unnecessary stress, leading to death.

The Fire Department warns that the arrival of the transition period between drought and the beginning of the rains increases the incidence of the presence of wild animals in rural and urban areas, land, gardens, backyards and even inside homes or cars.

According to the corporation, handling snakes and snakes should only be carried out by qualified people and specialists, as the animal can react when it feels threatened. Therefore, never try to capture, touch, scare away or kill a snake.
