33-year-old man is found dead with gunshot wounds to his head and back in Governador Valadares

The victim was found in the early hours of this Sunday (8), in the Santa Paula neighborhood. Police are investigating whether the crime is related to gunshots recorded hours earlier in the region.

Lucas Guimarães Soares, 33 years old, was found shot dead in the early hours of this Sunday (8), in the Santa Paula neighborhood, in Governador Valadares.

Forensics collected 4 cases of .38 caliber ammunition and 1 cell phone. The body was sent to the forensic examination station.

The Military Police are investigating whether the death is related to shootings that occurred on Saturday night (7), in the same region.

Anonymous reports pointed to Lucas as the possible author of shooting people in 1 car. Other shots would have occurred out of possible revenge.

The PM investigates conflicts between criminal groups in the Santa Paula neighborhood. Images from security cameras can help identify those involved.

A 33-year-old man was found dead in the early hours of this Sunday (8), in the Santa Paula neighborhood, in Governador Valadares, in the east of Minas Gerais. According to the Military Police, Lucas Guimarães Soares was lying on the street, in front of a house, with several puncture wounds to his head and one to his back.

According to the PM, the man already had no vital signs when the police arrived at the scene. Forensics collected four cases of .38 caliber ammunition and a cell phone. The body was sent to the forensic examination station.

Shots hours before

The police are investigating whether the death is related to an incident of gunshots recorded on Saturday night (7), at around 10:37 pm, on Avenida Dois, in the same neighborhood.

According to the PM, anonymous complaints pointed to Lucas as the possible author of shots at people who were in a car. Later, other shots reportedly occurred in the region, as possible revenge for the first attack.

The police received information about suspects involved in the shooting, but were unable to confirm their participation.

According to the PM, there are reports of conflicts between criminal groups operating in the Santa Paula neighborhood and nearby regions. The possible relationship between these disputes and the homicide is being investigated.

At the place where Lucas was found dead, the police did not locate any witnesses who could clarify how the crime happened.

Security cameras from nearby properties can help identify those involved.

The Military Police reported that they are continuing their search to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motivation for the murder.
