Man is arrested in the act for attempted feminicide in Álvaro de Carvalho

A 28-year-old man was arrested for attempted feminicide and domestic violence against his 25-year-old ex-partner, this Wednesday (30), in Álvaro de Carvalho (SP).

According to the police report, the man went to the residence where the woman lives with the couple's two children, one aged 6 years and the other aged 6 months, set fire to a baby carriage and then opened the valve of a gas cylinder towards the flames to set the property on fire.

The victim managed to put out the fire before the flames reached the structure of the house. The man fled as soon as the woman said she would call the police.

In testimony, the victim reported that she lived with the suspect for eight years and that she had left home a week ago after receiving recurring death threats and attacks.

The Military Police took the victim to the police station to file a police report. While the woman was giving her statement, the man returned to his ex-partner's house looking for her and the children's documents.

Upon returning to the residence, accompanied by a civil police officer, the victim saw the man nearby. The agent requested support from the Military Police and the suspect was located inside the property, where he was arrested red-handed. The delegate responsible for the case requested the conversion of the arrest from flagrant to preventive.
