Woman is stabbed inside her own car and suspect is arrested in Espírito Santo

A 29-year-old woman was stabbed inside her own car this Thursday morning (1st), in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, in the south of Espírito Santo. The suspect in the attacks is the victim's ex-boyfriend, who fled the scene in the vehicle.

According to the Military Police, around 8 am, there was an argument before the attack. Images from a security camera show the moment the woman leaves the house, walks and gets into the car, parked on Rua Levino Franzeres, in the Novo Parque neighborhood.

Soon after, the suspect also leaves the house, goes to his companion and opens the car door. They talk for a few minutes. The man appears to take something from his waist before entering the vehicle and closing the door.

About 20 seconds later, the woman opens the passenger door and tries to get out of the car a few times. She rests her hand on the rearview mirror, when it is already possible to see that she is injured.

The action draws the attention of a pedestrian, who approaches and tries to help the woman while the attacks continue. Soon after, the suspect tries to drive away. Finally, the woman is thrown out of the car and the ex-boyfriend escapes in the car.

Despite being injured, the woman returns home, with the help of a neighbor, and other witnesses approach.

The victim was rescued by residents of the region and taken to Santa Casa de Cachoeiro. No information was released about her health status.

Searches for the suspect and the vehicle were carried out in the region shortly after the escape, but without success. However, at the end of the morning, the man was located and arrested by the police in the city of Marechal Floriano, in the Mountain Region of the state.

The Civil Police reported that the case remains under investigation by the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP) of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim.
