Hyundai’s new Staria flagship MPV will be available for orders on September 14

Nanyang Industrial, the general agent of Hyundai, announced today (11th) that the new Staria flagship MPV will be open for orders on September 14, and will be available for preview simultaneously at five designated exhibition centers in Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung. The biggest highlight is the addition of a 1.6-liter turbo petrol-electric power option, which will be paired with the existing 2.2-liter diesel model, making its MPV lineup more complete. The pre-order unit price of the new Staria is 1.66 to 2.35 million yuan, and it is planned to be officially launched in late October.

The newly launched Staria petrol-electric model is equipped with a 1.6-liter Smartstream T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine, combined with a six-speed manual transmission system and TMED coaxial petrol-electric technology, forming the only coaxial turbine petrol-electric power in its class. It has a combined output of 245 horsepower and 37.4 kilograms, taking into account performance, energy efficiency and low emission requirements.

In addition to the new petrol-electric power, the new Staria has also been simultaneously upgraded in terms of exterior design, technological cockpit and safety equipment. The exterior continues the streamlined proportions of the One Curve, and is equipped with a new water tank guard and a continuous LED light guide strip at the front, further enhancing the technological recognition of Staria's former satellite ship shape; the cockpit is fully equipped with a 12.3-inch multimedia audio and video host to enhance daily operations and digital use experience.

Safety technology has also been upgraded simultaneously. PDW rear parking distance warning and RVM reversing image dynamic guidance have been added to the entire vehicle series, further improving the convenience of driving large vehicles in urban environments. As for the exclusive equipment of the flagship model, intelligent driving assistance technology and complete cockpit upgrades, further announcements will be made when it is officially launched in late October.
