Toyota Glanza will follow up Suzuki Baleno facelift, adopt new 1.2L engine, expected to debut in India in mid-October

As Suzuki launches the facelifted Baleno in India, the twin Toyota Glanza will also follow suit and undergo facelifts and upgrades. The two will share the exterior styling and interior layout. The only difference is the factory logo and the use of a newly designed 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, which has better energy-saving performance. The price of the current Glanza starts from 673,000 rupees, which is about NT$220,000. The facelift is expected to maintain the same people-friendly route and meet the local demand for entry-level cars. It is expected to be officially launched in mid-October.

If we take the facelifted Baleno recently released by Suzuki as a reference, the front of the car will be equipped with a new radiator guard design, and will be replaced by a large grille with chrome trim, creating a visual effect with a luxurious charm. As for the side and rear of the car, there are not many changes, and the new style wheels add extra highlights to the overall shape.

The interior maintains the existing layout, and enhances the quality performance through a two-color design. It comes standard with a 9-inch central touch screen, HUD head-up display, dual ventilated front seats, Qi wireless charging stand, Clarion top audio, 360-degree surround image display, and the in-car system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both technological convenience and ride comfort have been upgraded.

The facelifted Glanza will also follow the Baleno in adopting a newly designed 1.2-liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a power output of 83 hp and 11.4 kg-m. It is paired with a five-speed manual or AGS automatic transmission and has an average fuel consumption of 23.8 to 24.4 km/L.
