In the 'Corruption' case against IMM, 436 defendants, 57 of whom were detained, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was suspended from his duty, appeared before the judge at the 89th hearing. The hearing continues with the statements of the defendants who are not detained.

The 'Corruption' investigation against Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was suspended from his post as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and arrested, was completed and a 3,809-page indictment was prepared on November 11, 2025.

Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is mentioned as the 'organization leader' in the indictment; 'Establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime', 'Bribery', 'Laundering of proceeds of crime', 'Fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations', 'Recording personal data', 'Seizing and disseminating personal data', 'Hiding evidence of crime', 'Obstructing communications', 'Damaging public property', 'Taking bribes', 'Disseminating misleading information to the public', 'Extortion', 'Property resulting from crime' It was claimed that he committed the crimes of "laundering values", "tender rigging", "deliberate pollution of the environment", "opposition to the tax procedure law", "opposition to the forest law" and "opposition to the mining law". It is requested that İmamoğlu be sentenced to imprisonment from 828 years and 2 months to 2,352 years for 142 actions.

'MY EXPRESSIONS OF ACTIVE REGRET ARE VALID'

Remzi Baka, an unarrested defendant businessman who benefited from effective remorse provisions, said in his defense: "My previous statements are valid." The hearing prosecutor said, "You made statements at the prosecutor's office. There is a check issue given to Soytekin's company, around 5 million TL. What is this relationship?" he asked.

Baka said, "We gave it for the construction of a nursery."

The prosecutor asked, "What did you build the nursery for? Why was it requested from you?" Baka answered the question: "We were doing business for charity purposes, too, at the Metropolitan Municipality. We did it for charity purposes at that time."

The prosecutor said, "You mentioned İbrahim Bülbüllü, there was a money given, 380 million TL. How did this process take place, what was it given in return, under what conditions was it received?" Baka said, "For the work we did at that time."

The prosecutor then asked, "Which works?" Baka answered the question: "There were tenders we received, related to these."
