In the statement made by the Community Centers before the hearing of the case of Reşit Kibar, who lost his life while defending the forest and habitats in Artvin Cankurtaran, to be held on October 2, the following statement was made: "We will continue our struggle until all those responsible are tried and our nature and labor are free. We will expand the defense of life in the Reşit Kibar case in Artvin on October 2."

In the statement made at the Community Center Headquarters, it was stated that the 6th hearing of Reşit Kibar's case will be held at the Artvin High Criminal Court on October 2.

In the statement, it was claimed that Kibar's murder was connected to the quarry, recreation area and tourism projects that have been going on in the region for years.

It was stated that Cankurtaran villagers have been fighting for a long time against the opening of forests, water resources and livelihood areas to company activities.

For this reason, not only the pawns who pulled the trigger in the murder of Reşit Kibar, but also the capital centers behind it and the bureaucratic and political perpetrators who gave them the opportunity for this plunder, as well as those who instigated and turned a blind eye to the murder, need to be prosecuted. This is also why the judicial harassment against the villagers must be prosecuted over time and is very In the face of a multifaceted siege and an ineffective murder trial, it is our responsibility to track down all perpetrators and pursue the truth that is wanted to be covered up.

The report we prepared for this purpose, without compressing the criminal case regarding the murder of Reşit Kibar in Artvin Cankurtaran on September 3, 2024, into the incident where the attack took place; It evaluates the company's activities before the attack, the struggle of Cankurtaran villagers to defend their living space, the information held by public institutions, the contacts of company representatives and public officials, and the investigation and prosecution carried out after the attack. Community Centers discussed the case process under 15 headings in the report it prepared. In the report, the struggle carried out by the villagers against the mining and tourism projects in Cankurtaran, the development of the attack on September 3, 2024, when Reşit Kibar was killed, the company and family relations between the defendants, the informing of public institutions before the attack, the activities of the gendarmerie before the incident, the contacts between the Regional Directorate of Forestry and the company and the phone traffic after the attack were evaluated.

The report also claimed that although the villagers' anti-project attitudes were known in advance, sufficient security measures were not taken, some villagers were made defendants after the attack, sufficient evidence was not collected during the investigation and trial process, and the social dimension of the case was ignored.

In the last part of the report, the relations between public officials, company officials and politicians are investigated; He called for all links to the attack to be revealed and for all those alleged to be responsible for the incident to be prosecuted.
