Allegations of Responsibility Against Erdoğan from İmamoğlu's Close Circle

After Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş met with AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Beştepe on September 9, the first evaluation came from the detained IBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Cumhuriyet writer Barış Terkoğlu conveyed the information he received from Ekrem İmamoğlu's close circle on Lider TV.

'ERDOĞAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS'

Terkoğlu summarized the evaluation conveyed to him by İmamoğlu's close circle as follows:

"I called people who frequently go to Silivri, meet with Ekrem İmamoğlu, and people around him. I asked, "What does Ekrem Bey think about this photo?"

They said, "He is thinking of two things": First, there is no harm or problem in a mayor, especially a metropolitan mayor, holding a meeting at the Presidency.

Ekrem İmamoğlu also says that during his time as Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, he tried to establish a dialogue with the Presidency from time to time regarding various projects and loans, especially metro projects. Therefore, he thinks there is no problem in this meeting.

Secondly, he states that there is a problem with the date and timing of the meeting; Why? Because this meeting is held on September 9, 2026.

September 9 is the anniversary of the founding of the Republican People's Party. It is also a date celebrated by the new party that says "We also come from that root." As you may remember, receptions were held that day and Anıtkabir was visited. It was also brought to the agenda that Mansur Yavaş did not go to Anıtkabir and was not present at the reception.

It is dangerous that this meeting was held on September 9th. Because this date is symbolically important for both CHP and CHP supporters. He thinks there is a date that should not be squeezed into this photo.

Thirdly, he says that Mansur Yavaş is not responsible for choosing this date and giving the photo on that date, and that the responsibility lies with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Because Mansur Yavaş requests the appointment, but President Erdoğan determines the meeting date and they are told "Here you go". Therefore, Mansur Yavaş is not responsible for the meeting taking place on September 9.

Evidently, Erdoğan had a strategy to create this problem and this photo emerged.
