Publishing house Individuum closes after 11 years of operation

The Individuum publishing house is closing, the books that were in progress will be published in other publishing houses, said Individuum editor-in-chief Alexey Kiselev.

“The Individuum publishing house, created in 2015, is ending its existence eleven years later. The books that have been worked on in recent months will definitely be published. Now - in other publishing houses: follow the news in specialized media,” says the publisher’s Telegram channel.

Earlier, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow sentenced the former director of the publishing houses Popcorn Books and Individuum Dmitry Protopopov to 4 years of suspended imprisonment in the case of selling literature with LGBT* propaganda. According to investigators, he and other defendants in the case tried to sell books with LGBT* propaganda, including “Windows to the Courtyard,” “What the Swallow is Silent About,” Heartstopper, “A Checked Notebook,” “Darius the Great Deserves More,” “Summer in a Pioneer Tie.”

As specified in the materials of the case, read out during the last meeting, their distribution continued after the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation banned the international LGBT* movement.
