Iran announced that it shot down the MQ-1 UAV in the Strait of Hormuz

Iran's official news agency IRNA published the written statement from the Revolutionary Guard Army.

'HE WAS DETECTED AND SHOT'

In the statement, it was stated that an MQ-1 type UAV was detected and shot down by the Iranian air defense system in the western skies of the Strait of Hormuz.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Revolutionary Guards announced that a UAV of the same type was shot down over the Strait of Hormuz yesterday morning.

The MQ-1 type UAV, produced by the USA in the 1990s, was initially planned to be used for observation and advanced reconnaissance purposes. Later, new cameras and missiles were applied to these UAVs.
