Armed conflict in a music hall in Istanbul: 2 people, including a police officer, lost their lives

The incident took place around 03.40 on Atatürk District İkitelli Street.

A person who came to the music hall opened fire on the surrounding area for an unknown reason. Meanwhile, the police officer, who was inside and learned to be off-duty, responded to the person who opened fire. During the conflict, the police officer and the person who opened fire were seriously injured. Upon the notice of the music hall employees, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon check by medical teams, it was determined that the police officer and the suspect had died. It was learned that 2 people were injured in the conflict.

INVESTIGATION IS IN PROGRESS

Police teams arrived at the scene and inspected the music hall where the conflict took place. The teams examined the security camera footage of the workplace and also sought the information of the employees. Following the investigations, the bodies of the deceased police officer and the suspect were taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute. Police teams are continuing their investigation into the incident.

The teams are continuing their efforts to capture 1 escaped suspect. On the other hand, the workplace was sealed by the police teams.
