Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office detained 45 suspects within the scope of the investigation against Bayraklı Municipality.

In the statement made by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that a joint work was carried out by the Financial Crimes Combat and Intelligence branches of the Provincial Police Department, under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In the statement, it was noted that the investigation was carried out against the organization that was claimed to have acted under the leadership of former Bayraklı Mayor Serdar Sandal, and said, "An operation decision was taken upon obtaining evidence regarding the crimes of establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, bribery and tender rigging." expressions were used.

In the statement, the following was noted:

"Within the scope of the investigation, in line with the Court of Accounts reports, MASAK reports, technical and physical studies, and the information and documents obtained, a detention decision was made for a total of 48 suspects, including the previous Mayor of Bayraklı, managers and employees who worked in the municipality and municipal companies, and officials and owners of various companies. In order to capture the suspects and capture the criminal elements, a simultaneous operation was carried out under the coordination of our Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and 45 suspects were detained."

In the statement, it was stated that efforts to capture other suspects and search and seizure of addresses continue.
