A firefighter set fire to his ex-girlfriend's house in Izmir! Severely injured woman struggles for life

The incident took place in Seferihisar district of Izmir. Allegedly, A.K., who worked as a personnel at Gümüldür Fire Department, targeted the house of his ex-girlfriend E.S., with whom he had a relationship for about 10 years.

Suspect A.K., who allegedly bought a can of gasoline from a gas station, went to E.S.'s house in Seferihisar, poured the gasoline and deliberately set the house on fire.

E.S., who was caught in the flames of the fire. He was seriously injured. Upon notice from surrounding citizens, health, police and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. The young woman, who was taken out of the house with serious injuries, was taken to Dokuz Eylül University Hospital by ambulance. While E.S.'s struggle for life continued in the hospital, it was determined that his dog at home died in the fire.

Firefighter A.K., who had been responding to fires for years but spread terror by setting fire to his ex-girlfriend's house, was detained by police teams after the incident. The suspect, who was referred to the courthouse after his interrogation and procedures at the police station, was arrested and sent to prison by the court on charges of deliberately setting fire and attempted intentional murder.

The judicial investigation initiated into the incident continues.
