21-year-old woman is murdered while working in Londrina; suspect is arrested

Family and friends gathered to say goodbye to Thaissa de Oliveira Marques, 21 years old, in Londrina, in the North of Paraná.

The young woman was handing out flyers in front of the gym where she had recently been hired, when she was the victim of an attempted rape and was murdered.

The crime happened on Friday afternoon (11), before the opening of the establishment. The main suspect is Gabriel de Andrade, also 21 years old. He was arrested red handed on the same day.

"An immeasurable brutality. A monstrosity, to put it more clearly," said the victim's uncle, André Pimentel. The statement was given to RPC, a TV Globo affiliate, during the young woman's burial, on Saturday (12).

According to the Military Police (PM-PR), the young woman was approached by the suspect in the gym parking lot. When she reacted, she was stabbed and killed by him.

After the crime, Gabriel fled and stopped on a street close to the establishment because he had injuries to his hand. He was rescued by people who were at the scene and stated that he had been robbed.

The Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) and the PM were called to respond to the alleged robbery. While the teams responded to the alleged incident, workers who went to the gym to provide services found bloodstains at the scene and notified the police.

The agents went to the establishment and found Thaissa's body. Confronted by the police, the man confessed to the crime. He was arrested on suspicion of completed qualified homicide and attempted rape.

In his statement to the Civil Police, however, he presented contradictory versions and said he did not remember details. This Monday (14), he remains in prison.
