Mother and stepfather arrested on suspicion of mistreating a one-year-old baby in Uberaba

A 29-year-old mother and her 33-year-old partner were arrested on suspicion of mistreating her one-year-old daughter in the early hours of Sunday (13), in Uberaba. According to the Military Police (PM), the arrest occurred after the baby was admitted to a health unit in serious condition, with bruises on different parts of her body and injuries to her chest that may have been caused by cigarette burns.

A few hours later, the woman's partner returned to the UPA and was approached by the police. He said he had gone home because he was not wearing a shirt and returned by ride, after leaving the car at the residence. In the vehicle, however, the police found two t-shirts, as well as a backpack with the child's clothes and diapers, which contradicted the justification.
