In response to the question about Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş not attending the CHP's anniversary events and then resigning from the CHP, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I have previously shared my thoughts about Mr. Mansur with the public and quoted his statement. Without a doubt, I would have liked him to attend the 103rd anniversary event of the Republican People's Party, the program in Anıtkabir; he did not attend, it is his own choice. We do not force anyone to become a member of the party, just as we do not force anyone to become a member of the party by force." "We did not expel him from the party. We should respect his own choice. He has probably made his own evaluations and charted his own path," he said.
'JOINT CANDIDACY' ISSUE: I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS NON-SASTIC DISCUSSION
When asked whether Yavaş could be the joint presidential candidate of the opposition, Kılıçdaroğlu gave the following answer:
"I have never found it right to start the presidential candidacy discussions today. I saw these discussions as covering up the bad course of the economy, not being discussed or seen, and continuing an unnecessary debate on people. And why are the candidates for the presidential election being discussed already? The public is debating, 'Will it be that or will it be that?' No matter who it is. It will happen when the time comes. As a matter of fact, look, at the table of six, we announced the presidential candidate too late. The important thing is to get results here. There will be candidates: A, B, C... Two people can be discussed, five people, but it is too early. There is no presidential election, no decision has been taken, there is nothing, but the media is discussing it: 'Will it be this, will it be this, will it be that?' What about friends, the country has turned into a fire place, we are discussing 'Who will come to the head of the country?'
In my opinion, instead of discussing the presidential candidacy, we should discuss the regime. Can a country be handed over to one person? He hands over the country to a man; Of course, this does not happen, such a regime does not exist. We do not discuss this, we have accepted it as normal. I have never seen such a ridiculous argument like 'Let him go, let me replace him'. And most of those making this discussion are the intellectuals of the country or people we consider intellectuals. It's totally unnecessary in my opinion. There comes a time when people sit down; Of course, there are respected people in this society; It is looked at, it is evaluated, someone is nominated. But before that, we need to discuss our regime. Where will this system take Türkiye? Can a state be handed over to one man? No way, no way. This needs to be discussed.
When we look at the point the country has reached, we have a problem here. Parliament, we pay salaries to 600 people. Why are we paying? For God's sake, why are we paying? If it means raising your hands and taking them down, if you have to pay salaries to 600 people in the parliament, you put the robots there, they will raise your hands and take them down, no problem anyway. Which AK Party member of parliament looks at the content of the incoming bill? Which one is looking? None. Parliament has ceased to be a parliament. What we really need to discuss is the regime itself. Otherwise, Erdoğan left, another one came, someone else became... He also came, what will we do if we encounter another Erdoğan? Once the concept we call merit disappears in the state, there will be no institution you call the state. Undersecretariat was abolished. Why are you abolishing the Undersecretariat? It was removed, no one spoke out and it was never even discussed. These need to be discussed."
APPOINTMENT OF ISTANBUL PROVINCIAL PRESIDENCY
When Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was asked who would be appointed as the CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman, he said, "The decision on that issue was made by the Central Executive Board. It is not new, but it was made before, so it has been about a month since it was released. We were keeping him because it was a court decision," but he did not explain who was appointed.
"IF POLITICIANS WANT TO GET RESULTS, THEY HAVE TO COOPERATE"
"There is a search for cooperation in the opposition. There are close contacts and statements about whether cooperation can be made on a candidate who can win. Will the CHP be involved in this cooperation on this issue? Or will the CHP nominate a presidential candidate under any circumstances?" Upon the question, Kılıçdaroğlu said:
"If a politician wants to get results, he must cooperate. In other words, getting 51 percent is the basic rule of this business. If you get 51 percent on your own, yes, you can say, 'I will not cooperate and I will get 51 percent, I will get 55 percent.' But if you have no chance of getting 51 percent, you will cooperate. This is the founding philosophy of the table of six. But what kind of cooperation? You need to create its infrastructure. In other words, there should not be a different conflict process after coming to power. That is why we wrote a text. We prepared a text of more than 100 pages and laid out what we would do and how we would do it when we came to power, including constitutional amendments. On the other hand, Erdogan had to cooperate. He also went and established a separate table. Many parties, from DSP to Re-Welfare, came together and established them. Therefore, in the coming period, I believe that the parties will gather around a certain table and determine the presidential candidates in order to avoid any problems in the future. Kılıçdaroğlu gave the following answer when asked what the CHP's attitude would be in an election to be held for the IMM Presidency if Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is punished:
"Taking the authority that the people did not give by using tricks, the mayor elected by the people may be imprisoned, arrested or taken into custody. But if a party has won that place, at least all the political parties have to join that party... Since the people have chosen the CHP, then someone from the CHP must come and continue the presidency there. Morality requires this, it should be like this. But you are choosing a new president for yourself by using tricks, sometimes even arrests, money movements, buying people by giving money, buying their will. Olmaz. Halkın desteği nerede? Halk size oy verdi mi? Vermedi. Neyle aldınız? Ayak oyunlarıyla alıyorsunuz. Bunun adı nedir? Siyasal ayıp. En hafif deyimiyle siyasal ayıp.
