3 brown bears were shot and killed with a firearm in Kiğı

At the solid waste storage facility in Kiğı district, 3 brown bears, thought to have come to find food, were found dead, shot with a firearm. It was stated that there were bullet marks on the head and back areas of the bears.

Cüneyt Cici, President of the Kiğı Science, Culture, Art and Solidarity Association, who photographed the bears, stated that wild animals have been coming to the dump site for a long time and said, "Many wild animals live here as a part of natural life. The bears here are constantly feeding in this area. In the evenings, people came to watch and see them without harming the animals. Recently, we had heard rumors that the animals here were being killed, but we did not think this was possible. Unfortunately, today we saw 3 bears being shot to death. These animals are currently sitting in the dump like this. "It is clearly seen that they were shot in the head and back," he said.

Stating that the incident was done consciously, Cici said, "This is a geography where nature and animals are greatly respected. However, we do not accept the brutal shooting of the mountain goats in our mountains and the bears in the garbage dump. There were camera traps here. We want the incident to be investigated immediately and those who did this to be identified and punished. Because there is only one way to enter and exit this region. This road can be easily seen and monitored from the surroundings. In addition, it is almost impossible not to hear gunshots here. This incident was carried out consciously. "We think that we want the authorities to investigate the issue immediately," he said.
