Statement from Kılıçdaroğlu about İmamoğlu and the congress

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made statements regarding Ekrem İmamoğlu and the CHP congress.

Answering Euronews' questions, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that Ekrem İmamoğlu is not a political prisoner.

"He is not someone who was let in because of his political views." Kılıçdaroğlu said, "You cannot just declare a person as president and then call him a political case just because this happened." he said.

The CHP leader argued that İmamoğlu's presidential candidacy and the cases against him should be evaluated separately.

Kılıçdaroğlu, "Will you be a candidate for chairman again at the CHP congress?" He also answered the question.

The CHP leader, who left the door open to candidacy provided that the delegate requests it, said, "I have never said that I am a candidate for the chairmanship in any period. If the delegate says, 'Let this person come and become the chairman', how can you reject it?" He made a statement.

Kılıçdaroğlu also left the door open to cooperation in the presidential election.

Emphasizing that the opposition must act together to win the election, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "How will you get 51 percent? By cooperation. How will you get it without cooperation?" he said.
