Klopp makes five changes to the starting eleven - Conté makes his debut in the DFB team

Jürgen Klopp makes five changes to the starting line-up including newcomer Bambasé Conté in his first home game as national coach. In addition to the 23-year-old Hoffenheimer, goalkeeper Alexander Nübel, Josha Vagnoman, Yann Aurel Bisseck and striker Younes Ebnoutalib will also be in the starting lineup against Greece.

“I’m really keen to play today,” said Conté in an ARD interview. Klopp told him “that I should just have fun, be myself on the pitch and show what I can do.”

The national coach himself praised the midfielder, who has only played eleven Bundesliga games in his career so far. “A lot of what we want comes very easily to Bamba. Because that’s his nature,” Klopp told ARD.

“It triggers the pressing. He is a wonderful footballer, technically strong. But he has a ball-stealing mentality that is not yet so pronounced in this team,” said Klopp about Conté. “And to have someone there who does exactly that and can also play between the lines: there aren’t that many of them now. That's why we're watching Bamba today. I would be nervous, he doesn't seem like that. So let’s see.”

Three days after the 1-1 draw in the Netherlands, the national soccer team is again led by captain Joshua Kimmich. The Stuttgart Vagnoman can play as a right full-back. Conté, who was not yet part of the matchday squad in Amsterdam, plays alongside Dortmund's Felix Nmecha in midfield.
