Cheongju City, supports up to 2.5 million won for container inspection fees at LPG stores

Cheongju City announced on the 8th that it will support up to KRW 2.5 million in container inspection costs paid by LPG stores to prevent LPG container safety accidents and ease the burden on sales operators.

In accordance with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Management and Business Act, LPG containers must be inspected once every five years for those less than 20 years old, and once every two years for those older than 20 years.

The obligation to inspect lies with the owner of the container, and in most cases, the sales office owns the container.

The target of support is LPG sales offices registered in Cheongju City, and the city will support the cost of container inspection received from June 1 to November 30 of this year at actual cost.

Sellers can apply to the city's Climate and Energy Department (1st floor of Cheongju City Council Building) with supporting materials such as inspection details and transaction statements from the 19th of this month to December 4th. Mail applications are not accepted.

A city official said, “We plan to encourage stores to undergo container inspection on time through security support.”
