Jeon In-ji leaps to a tie for 5th place in the second round of the LPGA Walmart NW Arkansas Championship

Jeon In-ji jumped to the top spot on the second day of the LPGA Tour Walmart NW Arkansas Championship (total prize money of $3 million).

In the second round of the tournament held at Pinnacle Country Club (par 71) in Rogers, Arkansas, USA on the 27th (Korean time), Jeon In-ji made 7 birdies and prevented 1 bogey, reducing her score by 6 strokes.

Jeon In-ji, who hit a midterm total of 10 under par and 132 strokes, rose 21 places to tie for 5th place.

Jeon In-ji, who has a total of 4 wins on the LPGA Tour, including 3 wins in major competitions, has not added a number of wins since the 2022 KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Her best result this year was fourth place at the major tournament, the U.S. Women's Open.

However, Yuna Nishimura (Japan) hit a 63 strokes for two consecutive days, taking the lead with a total of 16 under par, 126 strokes, and ran away by far.

Jeon In-ji must catch up by 6 strokes on the last day to win this 54-hole tournament.

Kim A-lim, who reduced 5 strokes, also tied for 5th place with a total of 10 under par and 132 strokes.

Jinhee Lim, who was tied for 3rd place the previous day, dropped 4 strokes to tie for 5th place.

Meanwhile, Lauren Coughlin (USA) started the second round on the 10th hole and set a record by making birdies in 9 consecutive holes.

The LPGA Tour announced that Coughlin was the first to make birdies in all nine holes in the first half.

Coughlin, who added a birdie in the second half and hit a 10-under par 61, finished the second round with an intermediate total of 8 under par 134 strokes and a tie for 21st place.

Coughlin, who didn't know he had set a record, said, "My mid-distance putt went in really well today."
