Mother of Oruam leaves prison and is placed under house arrest by decision of the STF

She was imprisoned at the Djanira Dolores de Oliveira Penal Institute, in the Gericinó Penitentiary Complex, in Bangu, in the West Zone of Rio.

Márcia was arrested during Operation Blackbone, by the Federal Police, on October 19 of this year. The action investigated the monopoly of internet services imposed by Comando Vermelho in communities in Rio. Lucas Santos Nepomuceno, known as Lucca, son of Márcia and brother of Oruam, was also arrested.

According to PF investigations, Márcio Santos Nepomuceno, Marcinho VP, Oruam's father, continued, even in prison, to control business activities operated in these territories together with family members and other leaders of the faction.

The warrants for the operation were determined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), who also decided to convert Márcia's prison to home rule.

According to the defense, the request for house arrest was presented because Márcia is the main caregiver of one of her grandchildren, who has autism.

The Penitentiary Administration Secretariat reported that, as determined by the STF, an electronic ankle bracelet was installed to monitor Márcia during her house arrest.
